Recently, Shepard Fairey and DJ Z-Trip threw some fundraisers for the Obama campaign. The events were dubbed “The Party for Change”. From this came a pretty dope mixtape:
If you have yet to attend an Esperanza party, you truly are missing out on great events. A true fusion of music and fashion, never expect to leave one of their parties sober, especially when drinking the dangerous Whynattes. I always go to their parties with the intention of not drinking (Borat: NOTTTT) - but I always somehow end up drunk. To illustrate further:
I’ll be DJing Friday and Saturday night, but if I was off I’d probably go see Atlanta’s best and maybe only good punk band, the Carbonas. My roommate Matt is playing with another excellent outfit entitled Gentleman Jesse and His Men. Holler at all those Rob’s House/Douchemaster homies at the Earl.
I’m doing a great gig in Athens friday night. Our Striped Socks dance party turns 10 at the Go Bar. I have no idea how we’re going to top #9 when we dumped 60 pounds of confetti on the dance floor…we’ll come up with something. Alfredo aka IMMUZIKATION is a great DJ to hang with and always brings it. Many thanks to the International Leisure Club ppl who plan to swing through at midnight.
Saturday I’ll be spinning motown, soul, funk, and Internet jams downstairs in the main bar at Smith’s Olde Bar. It’s FREE and in midtown ATL so come have a brew with me. I’ll play any Aretha you want me to.
DIPLO (aka the funnest DJ alive right now) showed us how to do it last night at the Masq.
Abe Vigoda and Boy 8 Bit killed it too- I freaked when B8B dropped his amazing ‘cricket scores’ composition. Have it for yr computerzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
I just got the Obama Inaugural Speech in my inbox…I guess the leak is on as this has been one of the most anticipated mp3s of the fourth quarter. Here it is for your listening pleasure.

Presented by Drop Music, Brand A+R (part of the Patchwerk family), and Tanqueray, guests are invited to enjoy a selection of Tanqueray cocktails and nibbles…and, of course, to be the first to experience the latest music talent to make Atlanta her home.
Please RSVP to Caren West PR at rsvp@carenwestpr.com or 404.614.0006. There is limited space and this invitation is not transferable.
Wow. I can’t really rock nu-rave sneakers like some of y’all, but these kicks I could get into.
I usually keep things super clean/basic…and i could see these working well with even the dressiest of clothing. They’re made by a company called Common Projects, and even Hypebeast types are jocking them. They’re expensive, (around $300) which may explain the previous sentence.
Either way, if I had marketable job skills these might be on the short list of things I would cop with a four-figure weekly paycheck.
If you dig the style of these but don’t have the loot you always go with the more subdued vans/chucks for about a tenth of the price.
Finally.
I’m tired of all this bullshit.
Let’s get this country, our lives, our careers, our heads where they need to be.
I’ll be watching FOX NEWS tonight…remember when in 2000 the big 3 had Gore up but Fox called the election for Bush? When Murdoch’s boys announce Obama as the president it’s over.
Three of the illest right now. Big ups to my brother ASHER ROTH. Doing massive things. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. (feel free to go back about a year and read my post)
Peep Charles (who is fucking nutty with the lyrics) Ash and B.O.B. (both residing in ATL) on the NEW COLVER of XXL MAG.
My guy scooter braun kicked me this TRACK at 3:30 this morning it was a must to post.
